CASF EXPANDS PROGRAMS

The Canadian Association for Surface Finishing has reported a year of growth. Its membership has increased to 81 companies, and its current aim is to expand this total to 100.

CASF's annual meeting in April included announcements about its educational programs. A lunch-and-learn was conducted at Ontario's Seneca College in early April for 30 graduating students from the chemical engineering program and two faculty members. Feedback was positive. A similar session in Montreal had to be postponed to 2019, but there will be more such training offered by CASF in future.

Courses in French are being translated from English-language originals by Danielle Miousse, Serge Labbe and Serge St Martin. The first will be about Plating Essentials, with others to follow on Airline and Aerospace Finishing and Aluminum Finishing.  All courses will have CASF discounts.

CASF's annual golf tournament will be held on September 11 this year at the Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, ON. Already, 100 golfers have signed up for this event.
