CHEM SHOW TO CELEBRATE CENTENARY

The Chem Show, which is held November 17-19 at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is marking its centenary this year. The event’s origins date to 1915, when International Exposition Company started the show to stimulate pharmaceutical, dye and organic chemical manufacturing in the US.

Over the past 100 years, the exposition’s focus has shifted to showcasing the industry’s best practices and latest technological advances, while also providing a solid learning experience. Visitors to the three-day show this year are expected to number around 4,000 people.

The majority of this year’s exhibitors – around 75 percent of the total of 300-plus companies – are responsible for manufacturing equipment and developing technology.

This show also has a strong focus on waste treatment practices, with 10 percent of the exhibitors featuring technologies for this area. There are also 20 seminars covering production line performance, 3D printing, environmental and safety methodology and other topics.
