IHEA FALL BUSINESS CONFERENCE

The Fall Business Conference of the Industrial Heating Equipment Association will be held on Tuesday & Wednesday, September 1 & 2, at the Hilton Columbus Downtown, following the IHEA fall seminars in Columbus, OH. The association holds this conference each fall for the purpose of bringing IHEA member company representatives together for committee meetings and key informational presentations on issues important to members.

This year attendees will hear from IHEA president B.J. Bernard, and executive vice-president Anne Goyer, about a new training-related event that IHEA will sponsor in 2016, ITPS Americas. Also on the program will be a presentation about the latest trend in manufacturing training – makerspaces, which are communal working areas or networks. Chief operating officer at the Columbus Idea Foundry, Casey McCarty, will provide some background and highlights of this new training initiative.

A representative from the US Department of Energy will discuss new opportunities for working with the Department and ways IHEA can be involved in upcoming projects. Also, Michael Collins of MPC Management will present What to Know to Grow, a presentation that highlights several ways to evaluate a company’s needs in order to choose the right strategy as well as offer apprenticeships to bring in young talent.

There will be a networking event at the Columbus Clippers baseball game on Tuesday evening, September 1. Just a short distance from the hotel, guests will be treated to a private picnic area at Huntington Park to enjoy dinner and socialize before the game.
