Al Mordy, who was president of Cloverdale Paint Inc. (Surrey, BC) died on June 4 after a short illness and ensuing complications.

Mordy joined the company in 1976. He was active in several industry-related associations, in both Canada and in the US, where the company had extended its presence in recent years. At the time of his death, he was training a management team to replace him as he phased himself out of day-to-day company operations.

A “Celebration of Al’s Life” is being planned for June 19, 2015, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Red Cedar Ballroom, Pacific Gateway Hotel, Vancouver Airport, 3500 Cessna Drive, Richmond, BC. People traveling from out of town who require hotel accommodations are asked to  notify Carmelle Dwyer (cdwyer@cloverdalepaint.com ) by Monday, June 15 and she will book a hotel room at the Pacific Gateway.

The Mordy Family has asked that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (www.llscanada.org) in lieu of flowers. Messages, cards, or emails for the family can be forwarded to Ms. Dwyer at the company head office.
