BYK-Gardner USA has launched a new protective coating test kit that includes a dry-film thickness gauge, Thermo-anemometer, moisture meter and IR thermometer in one sturdy carrying case. The Protective Coatings Field Test Kit provides a complete solution for evaluating the environmental conditions prior to painting as well as measuring the dry film thickness of the coating after application in accordance with SSPC PA-2.
The byko-test Fe/NFe dry film thickness gauge features a SSPC specific mode for standardized measurement protocols and calibration routines. For measuring air temperature, velocity and relative humidity, the Thermo-anemometer (BYK a200) can also be used outdoors to calculate dew point to determine the right painting conditions.
The BYK t200 IR thermometer offers a non-contact temperature measurement for indoor and outdoor surface applications. Its laser-targeting feature shows the location of the temperature measurement and has a backlit display for poor lighting conditions. And finally, the BYK m200 moisture meter is designed to verify moisture content and readiness for coating applications. It can be used to determine the correct drying and curing of raw materials, and it works with most hygroscopic building materials such as wood, plaster, masonry, gypsum, and concrete.
